Alone in the night. The world is asleep, yet you remain awake. An inner restlessness allows no silence. Thoughts circle and pull you further down – escape feels impossible. A pressure builds, as if in great depth: dark, saline, overwhelming. A sharp sensation grows in the chest, like a breath drawn underwater. You want to scream, yet know no one will hear. Slowly, the body sinks deeper until, in the distance, a light appears. It radiates warmth and, for a moment, makes everything else fade.
Dawn breaks. Not a single eye has closed, and yet the body feels strangely relieved. The night lies behind you; the first rays of sunlight fall through the window, carrying a tangible stillness. Gradually, calm spreads within, until sleep finally arrives.
