Since the founding of Heretic in 2015 in L.A., Douglas Little has carved out a niche for his modern and extraordinary collection of unisex fragrances. As the only child of professional photographers, Douglas began developing his sense of smell at preschool age and earned a dollar every time he correctly identified the scent of lavender and other plants. Years later, when Douglas realized that a transformation was taking place everywhere - GMOs in food, parabens in creams, and aluminum in deodorants being banned, while the fragrance industry remains hidden - he wanted to create something different: a perfume company that is authentic, sustainable, and radically transparent - who they are, what they make, and how they make it. Douglas sees a unique beauty in natural elements and plants that cannot be replicated. While other companies hide toxic or synthetic substances under the words 'fragrance' or 'perfume', Heretic is more than proud to openly and fully disclose their ingredients. But it’s not just about the 'clean' aspect, the botanical elements, or the scent profiles of the perfumes, but also about the holistic aspects. Douglas describes nature as wild, provocative, sensual, spiritual, cheerful, and passionate. It has a strong therapeutic effect, expressed through its combination of conventional perfumery and the Ayurvedic, healing, and aromatherapeutic properties of natural extracts in its creations.
