"My love affair with denim began in the 90s when I begged my mother to buy me a pair of vintage Levi's from the only consignment shop in Reykjavik. I wore them obsessively, learned how fabric can hold memory, and how clothing can quietly shape who you were becoming. They were imperfect, lived-in, and exactly right. When I moved to London in my twenties to work in fashion, I was exposed to countless ways of working with denim—washed, reconstructed, deconstructed, revered. It was there that denim shifted from something instinctive to something intentional. For my first ever perfume show, I wore a pair of Martin Margiela white ribbed jeans. They felt like proof that denim could be both utilitarian and poetic.

I had always imagined capturing the essence of denim in a fragrance, and little did I know that Céline Barel, the celebrated Parisian perfumer, my collaborator and friend, shared the very same vision. For years, she had been exploring the idea of a denim-inspired scent, refining it with the meticulous artistry only she could bring.
