A Dane in New York: The Story of RAAW Alchemy
The American Dream, told with a Danish accent: Trice Angie Christiansen left her hometown of Copenhagen to move to New York – the first step toward founding RAAW Alchemy. The second step came in the form of a skincare disaster straight from hell. Instead of nourishing her skin, a high-end beauty product caused severe irritation: rashes, flaky patches, fine lines – the full nightmare. Trice was shocked that even luxury skincare relied on chemical ingredients capable of triggering such reactions. That experience led to step three: launching her own beauty brand – a move with undeniable main character energy.
Natural ingredients became the foundation of RAAW Alchemy and still define the brand today. To develop her formulations, Trice immersed herself in plant medicine traditions rooted in Chinese and Eastern cultures. Inspired by centuries-old knowledge, she created her own modern approach to nourishing skincare and fragrance.
Her very first creations remain bestsellers to this day:
- Blue Drops: A soothing facial oil originally handmade by Trice in her New York apartment. Featuring blue tansy, jojoba oil, ylang-ylang, and baobab seed oil.
- Blackened Santal: The very first perfume by RAAW Alchemy. A deep woody fragrance built around standout notes like rosewood, cardamom, violet, and vanilla. Created together with Trice’s father and dedicated to him, the scent carries a rich and characterful signature.
Today, Trice Angie Christiansen has returned to Copenhagen, where the entire RAAW Alchemy collection is now produced.
